Entebbe Paediatric Hospital

Entebbe Paediatric Hospital

This 72-bed specialised paediatric hospital in Entebbe will be part of an Africa-wide network of Centres of Excellence developed by the Italian Emergency NGO in cooperation with the Ugandan Government.

The hospital is designed by renowned Italian Architect Renzo Piano for whom the Entebbe hospital will be the first project in Africa. Key ingredients of the design are load-bearing rammed earth walls, partially two storeys high, and a 3,000m² photo-voltaic roof which will produce parts of the energy the hospital consumes.

Studio FH acts as Executive Architect throughout the design and construction process.
